???(yì k? t?n?), or Bus IC card, is an abbreviation of ‘Beijing Municipal Administration and Communications Card’, which is a store-value contactless smart card for public transportation and related uses.
2) Why should we buy ‘???’?
If you want to save much money when you traveling Beijing by bus, I highly recommend you to buy a bus IC card-‘???’.
Usually, the starting charge for most ordinary buses which number start below 6 is 1 yuan (RMB), and 2 yuan for bus number start from ‘
If you don’t have a bus IC card, bus fare may goes up to 5 yuan when you take by some loop line buses and long distance buses which are charged by travel distances. When you leave Beijing or don’t want to use the ??? anymore, you can return it back to places where is appointed by Beijing Municipal Administration and Communications Card Co. Ltd. or where you bought it before, then they will return you 20 yuan if your card is not damaged.
5) How to use ‘???’ ?
If both of the front bus door and the rear bus door have IC card machines, you have to swipe the IC card twice times: swipe IC card at the front door after getting on the bus, and swipe again before getting off at the rear door. And if there’s only one IC card machine at the front door, you just need to swipe once. But if there’s too crowded on your bus, you can ask the driver or ticket seller to swipe at the card machine which near to you.
