If you hold a foreign bank card, you can choose those ATM marked with VISA or UnionPay, which can connect to your foreign bank and do the transaction and work in Chinese and English.
If you are told by a cash machine that your transaction has been declined and to contact your bank, do not panic. This often just means that the International network is unavailable. You should try the other banks.
If your bank card has been swallowed by the machine, just call the bank phone number on the machine, and the bank will help you out sometimes the stuff will come to take our of your bank card immediately if the trouble machine is closed to the bank.
