Why didn't my train stop at Tiananmen?
Today I took a train from Jianguomen to Xidan and it stopped at all stations along the way as it would normally do. However, about 20 minutes later I went back to Jianguomen but the train didn't stop at either Tiananmen stop. The west station was empty but the east one was full so I was very confused. Why did this happen? Is there a new express train system where some trains skip lower traffic areas like Tiananmen?

Tian'anmen station will be closed during some important festival or activities.Because Tiananmen square station cannot suffer more traffic during those special date. Can't you imagine thousands of tourist rush to the square at one quarter hour?
Anyway, you can stop on ordinarily days.
