How many people died in Sichuan earthquake?

a Tanwanese told me that at least 40,000 people died in Sichuan, but cctv reported that less than 10,000 this morning. Which is true?

i recommend u plz don't believe anyone at this period, 'cause there's no exact calculation till now. but I bet u that there're about 10,000 people went to the paradise during the disaster.
